May 31, 2008the epic journey to GTFO
At around one in the morning, Tony Stockert and I began shooting the new music video "GTFO (I got a zombie on my back)". At two in the morning, it was in the can! That's right. Only geniuses like ourselves could pull off such a masterful work of art in such short time. Though, don't be fooled. Every light, every angle, every movement took days of story boarding, choreographing, and pre-vis cg interpretation. To aid us in our effort, we hired the cinematographer of Children of Men, choreographer of Moonwalker, effects coordinator of Captain EO, and the set designer of Pan's Labyrinth.
I now present to you the final product of our blood sweat and tears, "GTFO". You can find it in my video section. It's the video where I'm holding two handguns. Oh and if you really want to see a music video I've directed, check out the epic "Teeny Boppers" by Epsilons!!!! - Adam

March 18, 2008SXSW: Rockin out with the kids
Oh my. I just got back from SXSW in Austin, Texas. I was as busy as the bands that were there, working for stickam and all, but I still had a great time! It's kind of easy to describe the experience. It's very much Mardi Gras if you take out all the bros and all the hoes and replace them with unshowered, unshaven, musically-inclined hipsters. The drinking is still present, as is the music. Except the music isn't from a house DJ playing Bon Jovi, it's all live and raw from the bands that created them, baby.
From the second I got there to the second I left, I couldn't figure out how the millions of bars and venues that are packed next to one another stay in business throughout the year. There's no way there are THAT many bands and people in Austin year round to supply dolla' bills to these places. One can consider the 50 billion dollar platinum badges needed to enter these venues as being the big money cash-in for Austin's fiscal year. My fellow employees who joined me on this musical adventure asked me if I like Austin. I couldn't give them a straight answer. Visiting SXSW and asking if you like Austin is like asking if you like the world. Out of the hundreds of people I met, I think maybe 99.9 percent of them were only in town for the week. I made a lot of friends and surprisingly found my first nemesis, but that is a blog post for another day. I'm posting a ton of new pictures, so check em out!!!!!

March 8, 2008Our Failed attempt at performing Zombie Blood
Last
night, Tony Stockert and I figured it would be funny to perform Zombie Blood at an open mic from a coffee shop across from my apartment in Hollywood. We rolled in like the playboys we
are and put our name down to perform. We watched one acoutic guitarist
after another hit the stage and express their depression, angst etc. Moments
before it was our turn to melt everyone's faces, we overheard a
conversation between two patrons leading us to believe the entire coffee shop was a
christian church group. Tony became so fucking scared to get up and rap
about undead zombies. I honestly didn't mind pissing everyone off, but by the
look of the sweat Tony had broken, I could tell it was a no-go. As we
attempted a quiet exit, the nice little hostess called my name. I turned and announced that I couldn't perform. The entire place stood in their berkenstocks and erupted, "Oh come on Adam. It's okay. Everyone can play here. Lets hear one song from Adam". I was like, "Nah guys. I got to go." Then we ran off like sissy girls.
If you don't know Zombie Blood, here it is... http://youtube.com/watch?v=EjoLkKZuGx8
